It’s refreshing to see a trampoline that is not marketed as a piece of exercise equipment. The Upper Bounce is made for children, young children, and that is clear from every design decision Upper Bounce made.
What’s to Like
The Upper Bounce 7-foot Indoor/Outdoor Classic Trampoline and Enclosure Set really does have a lot of great things about it. Perhaps the most obvious benefit is the optional netting around the sides. Again, it’s important to understand that this is an item designed for very young kids, some as young as four or five. And any parent knows that given free reign, kids will injure themselves in the most efficient, yet creative ways imaginable.

The enclosure set does a great job of making sure that no matter how rambunctious your child is, they will stay within the boundaries of the trampoline mat and not go flying out. The enclosure is very easy to set up and has high quality netting all around. It has an open top with slanted sides to give the impression of openness combined with the additional safety the design lends it, and zips up the side.
And speaking of the design, again we can see how this was made with small children in mind. Despite being seven feet of diameter, it only is rated to hold 150 pounds. This accommodates a little body, but probably not a teenager, and certainly not an adult. There are three inches of skirt padding around the sides and legs to protect against bumps and bruises. The heavy duty mesh jumping mat can be bounced into all day.
The Upper Bounce trampoline is made so that it can be used indoors or outdoors, and it shows. The surfaces that come in contact with the ground are soft enough that they shouldn’t damage floors. It is light enough to be moved around pretty easily between inside and outside locations. Because the enclosure is so easy to take apart, getting through doors isn’t much of a problem. The entire unit can be rolled with ease.
Beyond all of that, this is just a really fun trampoline for kids. It bounces enough that they can get some solid exercise in. It has solid springs that have great give to them and the jumping mat is comfortable on the feet.
Could Do Without
A few reviewers pointed out some drawbacks to this particular trampoline, but they can be fixed or dealt with fairly easily.
To start with, it is not easy to assemble. It’s not that the assembly itself is difficult, but rather that the instructions are awful. Pictures are small and blurry, often not depicting the step that they’re in a position to illustrate. The descriptions read like every parody of instructions that has ever been presented on a sitcom. If you happen to be good at assembly, or if you know someone who is, you should have no problem.
The legs and many of the metal parts are covered with some sort of grease or oil. I understand that this is actually a good thing, and was likely put on there in order to prevent rusting and lubricate during assembly, but if you aren’t paying attention, you may get it all over your carpets should you be assembling inside, or all over clothing. Since there is no warning about this stuff on the box, just be aware of it and keep a rag nearby to wipe down all of the metal parts before assembly.
And speaking of assembly, it is not easy to do alone. You certainly can put this trampoline together by yourself, but it may require a bit of trial and error, and planning, and will likely end up taking longer then you think. No surprise there for many of you.
You can put it together alone, but considering the springs are for some people a bit difficult to pull and attach to the frame, it helps to have another person there to lend a hand.
Two Thumbs Up — This is a really great trampoline for kids. As an adult, you can’t use it since you likely will outweigh the rating. But at the very least it provides a fun activity for children.
If you’re looking for a great activity for your kids that they’ll love until it wears them out, you can’t go wrong with an Upper Bounce 7-foot Indoor/Outdoor Classic Trampoline and Enclosure Set.
How much should you pay?
Well I have bad news and good news. The bad news is that the list price is north of $300. The good news, however, is that some retailers sell this trampoline for under $240. The best price that I have seen is on Amazon.
